ABOUT ME •

A graduate of Point Park University with a BFA in Modern Dance, Julia's artistic foundation was built on the relationship between groove and conservatorial technique under the mentorship of Jason McDole, Garfield Lemonius, and Crystal Frazier. After moving to New York City, her curiosity for movement led her to popping, where she found a new language that bridged concert dance and theatre. That journey introduced her to Jon Rua and The Grit, further shaping her approach to storytelling through movement.

Julia Charkales is a dancer, singer, and movement artist currently appearing as a Swing in the MAMMA MIA! Broadway National Tour.

Julia's performance career spans concert, commercial, and musical theatre. She has performed with Sun Kim Dance Theatre at the New Victory Theater, the Guggenheim Museum, and the Battery Dance Festival, and was featured in Dance Magazine for the company's advocacy supporting immigrant artists navigating the U.S. visa process. Her commercial work includes collaborations with Davines, a swimwear campaign, and a music video for PostScript. She is proudly represented by Go 2 Talent Agency.
